So we have waited for a long time to finally visit Sydney and it didn’t disappoint.
We got there in the afternoon and had a brief wander around the City. We ventured down to Darling Harbour and it was a complete contrast to the 5 days we had just had just spent in Port Douglas!
Daintree is the oldest rainforest on earth, around 140 million years old! We spent our day exploring with Daintree Safaris! A luxury tour from Port Douglas to The Daintree, Cape Tribulation & Mossman Gorge. 6 of us travelling in a a land cruiser with an incredible host called Nicholas Fox who was probably one of the most informed, funny, entertaining people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting! Truly lovely gent!
An amazing day out to The Great Barrier Reef, justifiably on a lot of people’s bucket lists. It was high on mine!
We spent our day on the Reef with Calypso Reef Cruises and I have to credit and thank their on-board photographer for some of these photos. Fantastic service and I highly recommend them, they sail from Port Douglas.
Finally, we made it to Australia! Australia has been number one on my list for many years! I was so excited to be in Oz! Similar to our other trips, we had a busy itinerary with lots to see! We flew via Singapore, into Brisbane then onto Cairns. Cairns wasn’t our main destination, although we did explore on the way back. We stayed in Port Douglas which is about an hours drive north of Cairns, along one of the most scenic coastal roads in Australia! Only in the country a few hours and already blown away by its natural beauty!
